This article covers how to capture Approval data within a Power Automate flow. In order to utilise this Power Automate action, you must have an Approval Flow configured on the triggering form.
For more information on the other OneBlink Power Automate functionality, please check out the Power Automate Integration Article.
Configuration Steps
Step 1: Add the OneBlink trigger action to the flow and select your form that has an Approval Flow configured. In the Advanced Parameters, set the Trigger to be "After the Submission has been approved".
Step 2: Add a "Retrieve Approval Record" action, select the same form and select an Approval Step from the Form's Approval flow.
Without any further actions, you will now have access to the:
- Approved By: Email Address - The email address of the user who approved the step
- Approved Timestamp - The timestamp for the time the step was approved
- Approval Form Id - The approval form Id if there was an approval form assigned to the step
- Approval Form Submission Id - The submission Id for the approval form, if one was assigned to the step
Step 3: To retrieve any approval form data, you will need to add a "Retrieve Form Submission Data" action, use "Approval Form Id" as the Form Id and "Approval Form Submission Id" as the Submission Id from the result of "Retrieve Approval Record".
Step 4: Add a Parse JSON connector, in the Content add the Submission Data attribute, and in the Schema paste the form schema provided on the Summary Tab of the form within the OneBlink Console.
You can now integrate the Approval step data into any other system supported by Power Automate. For some example integrations, feel free to check out some of our other Power Automate articles.
