Power Automate - Approval Data

Modified on Thu, 9 Jul at 11:18 AM

This article explains how to capture Approval data within a Power Automate flow.

To use this Power Automate action, the triggering form must have an Approval Flow configured.

For more information about other OneBlink Power Automate functionality, see the Power Automate Integration Article.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Add the OneBlink trigger action to the flow and select the form that has an Approval Flow configured.

In the Advanced Parameters, set the Trigger to After the Submission has been approved.

Step 2: Add a Retrieve Approval Record action.

Select the same form, then select the Approval Step from the form’s Approval Flow.

Approval Data Available

After adding the Retrieve Approval Record action, the following approval data will be available in Power Automate:

  • Approved By: Email Address: The email address of the user who approved the step.
  • Approved Timestamp: The timestamp for when the step was approved.
  • Approval Form Id: The approval form Id, if an approval form was assigned to the step.
  • Approval Form Submission Id: The submission Id for the approval form, if one was assigned to the step.

Retrieving Approval Form Data

Step 3: To retrieve approval form data, add a Retrieve Form Submission Data action.

Use Approval Form Id as the Form Id, and Approval Form Submission Id as the Submission Id. These values come from the result of the Retrieve Approval Record action.

Step 4: Add a Parse JSON connector.

In the Content field, add the Submission Data attribute. In the Schema field, paste the form schema from the Summary tab of the form in the OneBlink Console.

You can now use the Approval step data in any other system supported by Power Automate. For example integrations, see the other OneBlink Power Automate articles.
